Medical illustrators are comprehensively trained to understand the anatomy and systems of the body—from the macro to the micro levels—and to communicate science concepts to many different audiences. The images in my Medical Portfolio represent a clean, easy to read style that audiences understand quickly and effectively.

Med-Legal illustrations are a special discipline. I often work in the area of medical malpractice defense, and retain a neutral, informative approach to human anatomy, medical procedures, and effective courtroom presentations. Each of the images in my Med-Legal Portfolio is for a defense case that prevailed or settled.

Many of my biological science illustrations have been for large science museums. I enjoy the research involved in developing natural history images, and create dynamic bio-science illustrations that display the most interesting aspects of the subjects, whilst striving to impart a bit of the respect I feel for nature.

There are special challenges to illustrating processes at the cellular level and deeper. Medical device illustration demands scrupulous attention to the clients' specifications. Illustrations may be produced for trade shows, product instructions, editorial, in-house educational uses, or for investor relations and marketing materials.
