A first love for me is illustrating biological sciences, the natural world, and the creatures that inhabit it. I enjoy the research involved in developing biological science and natural history images, and go directly to the living source when possible. When not possible, I seek out experts for input and consultation.
I enjoy creating biological science illustrations that offer dynamic views of mammals, fish, and reptiles and display the most interesting aspects of the subjects. I strive to impart a bit of the respect I feel for our fellow earthlings in the illustrations I create. Much of my biological-scientific illustration and natural history illustration work has been for large science and natural history museums, with a focus on illustrating wildlife.
My biological science & natural history clients include the Smithsonian Institution (the world’s largest museum, education, and research complex), the Monterey Bay Aquarium, plus scientific publications such as the Journal of Neuroscience, and others.
